New York, USA

Andy, Dave and Iain decided to spend a little extra time State-side following the March 2001 Chicago trip, just to recover. We bid a fond farewell to the rest of the Williamwood Pipe Band and boarded a flight to 'The Big Apple'.

We stayed with a good friend who has a penthouse suite on 52nd Street, just between 2nd and 3rd Avenues, in Manhattan. Apart from relaxing, our objective was to discuss the development of 'Piping Services' and to make some new contacts. We accomplished both tasks and our bonus was playing in some interesting venues whilst also being the ultimate tourists.

It is hoped that future visits will be made to the city of New York, and the connection with Steve Pack, who is a piper with a pipe band in New Jersey, grows stronger by the year. It may be possible to get a band to take part in the Tartan Day celebrations in years to come.
