No.1 Uniform


The No.1 Uniform is the uniform generally worn by military pipe bands.

The uniform includes a feather bonnet, or Busby as it also known, with a hackle and cap badge.

On the torso the piper wears the No.1 tunic which has either silver or white braiding, a pipe's crossbelt, piper's waistbelt and of course a piper's plaid over the left shoulder, which is held in place with a plaid brooch.

A full length horse hair sporran is also worn, with tartan hose, black brogues and spats worn on the feet.
